They Started It

As you lie in sweet repose,
Beneath your bed a host of foes
Swarm out at night to bite your toes,
To pinch your bum and tweak your nose!
How such travails as this arose
Is lost in time so no one knows,
But since they’ve brought the case to blows
We’ll have to kill them I suppose.
