The Stanfields

Until yesterday, when they found me serendipitously because of driving while listening to CBC Radio, I had never heard of these guys. The Stanfields are a band that plays out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, described by Q104 Radio as, “The bastard children of AC/DC and Stan Rogers”.
I heard them play this song, called Jimmy No More, and it made me want to hear more, except I guess it won’t be from Jimmy. Listen to this ditty and see what you think.
So here is the free sample directly from the band’s website, including the version of Jimmy No More as it appears on their album. Just click on the selection you want to listen to. I particularly enjoy Dagger Woods, that refers to a legendary Nova Scotia haunted place that has always been of interest to me and Mrs. LFM. Methinks we’re going to have to stalk these guys in the pubs of darkest Halifax sometime soon. Also no doubt buy their CD and any that follow.
