Happy birthday lad. You’re still just a wee calf.
On this day, Peter Ashley Thompson has succeeded in turning 58 years of age – a thing so singularly amazing that it’s unlikely he’ll ever manage to do it again. To commemorate this occasion, we’re offering this.

Peter Thompson’s fifty-eight,
Above the sod, don’t call him late,
He’s white of beard, not bald of pate,
No scotch is made the man will hate.
We wish him life that’s long and good,
And coffin made of Oaken wood
That sports a hundred rings of growth
I’ll plant next week – my solemn oath.
