A Steampunk Love Story – For a While Anyway
Posted By Randy on March 4, 2011
A couple days ago this little gem caught my eye, a beautifully rendered short animated film written and directed by Andrey Shushkov titled Invention of Love. Subtitled, “A love story from the world of gears and bolts,” it serves up bittersweet in a neat little package.
Excellent! 🙂
Thank you. It was a great find, and no mistake!
If you enjoy the Steampunk genre and haven't already seen it, this might turn your gears – http://randy.whynacht.ca/archives/1122
Randy L. Whynacht, thanks for drawing my attention to this! You have once again enriched my life. I hadn't looked at this before, but I'm really into steampunk and that caught my eye. I've spent most of my life working on various technologies, and the truth is that while they can be wonderful and profoundly useful, all of them have built into them the possibility of producing just this sort of result. Amazing how far apart knowledge and wisdom can be. While I get tired of the people in Vancouver carrying around their little pocket dogs so they won't be lonely, their "companion animals", I have my little pocket computer that is my "companion machine". Which of us do you suppose has the richer life?
Arthur – Are you familiar with Paolo Bacigalupi and his "green punk" scifi? Check out Shipbreaker and especially Windup Girl (Monsantos try and rule the world!)

Marveilleux! I had not explored the world of Steampunk before. This opened my eyes. I realized that Doctor Who is Steampunk epitomized. How can I have been so blind? Consider I come from the town of Bolt On. Now I must sort out the gear in my wardrobe.
