What The Fuck?

Jim Keating posted a link today that leads to a Blog called Golden Age Comic Book Stories, specifically its 21 December 2010 post featuring cover art drawn by Ed Emshwiller for assorted Christmas issues of Galaxy Magazine and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction published between 1951 and 1961.
The covers feature what at the time would have been considered futuristic Christmas scenes that include predictable “space age” icons like robots, rockets, and little green men, but the last one in the post, illustrating a David R. Bunch story titled A Little Girl’s Christmas in Modernia, left me wondering what the hell artist Ed was thinking. Whatever it was, I’m pretty sure that these days it would have gotten him arrested.

You gotta love old magazine and comic covers. They were so artistic and they weren’t computer generated, but were done with pencils and other artist materials.
